Devour Pinot Noir 2005

The accompanying image of this inaptly named pinot indicates what Elly and I did not do with the bottle — devour it. This 2005 Napa Valley Carneros district pinot looks (and unfortunately tastes!) for all the world like water tinted with a slight amount of red food coloring. Not recommended.

AGREED!!! I had the misfortune of snagging this for $6.50, and I feel cheated. Go back and try something else from the bargain bin, you might get lucky. I snagged two gems but flopped on two others, plus this.

Though, there are worse... XD

Thanks for checking in on wine. :-) Elly and I have recently been enjoying St. Francis Old Vines Zinfandel, it's a 2005 we've been buying at Costco for about $16.99. Despite the higher price, it is still a bargain. Worth checking out if you have a Costco in your area. If not, you can probably find it other places, not sure what the price would be.

I must say that Costco has really fallen down in their moderately priced wine, starting about four months ago. They used to have a terrific selection in the $10 to $20 range, which is where we generally buy. Now they only have a few good options.
